TREE
2017-2021
The tree has appeared in my drawings since childhood. I grew up in a green area and I was always surrounded by trees. Also as a child, I had a very complicated relationship with my family. The tree would be my desire to have a warm family. For many years, every time I would like to make a new decision and start a new chapter in my life, I go to nature and draw to mentally release myself.
We are connected to an infinite source of power which is actually the nature and essence of all of us. We are full of power. Some of us live this power, but some of us don’t even know it exists.
In nature, each creature reaches what has been created for it. Wheat will eventually become wheat, or the lion will not become a donkey. It is only man who, if he does not find himself, gets something less than what he was created for. (Mohammad Biria, psychotherapist)
BODY / TREE
2021-2022
Finding similarities between trees and humans and attributing the characteristics of trees to humans can give us strength and hope to continue and grow. It is enough to think about how trees reborn every year.
HAND / TREE
Ink, Pencil and Marker on Paper, 2018-2021
The hands act. Our feelings and thoughts make them move. What is in our heart and in our mind is only ours or the heritage of others? How far should we explore to hear our own voice? Our identity is behind our hands.
The branches are the hands of the tree. Turning the hands into branches is a way to return to our origin to find our identity.
HAND / LEAF
Trilogy, Ink and Pencil on Paper, 2021
A simple leaf, every day we just pass or crush it. And a hand with a simple gesture. Combining and drawing these two ordinary and simple things that are not simple anymore. How much of life has become normal for us? Do we forget to ask questions for ordinary things?
QUARENTINE T-SHIRT
Drawing & sewing on T-shirt, 2020
Ink & Pencil on paper, 20×20 cm, 2020
In quarantine, in just a few days everything changed. Nothing was in its right place. Many things lost their meaning and function but at least it got us thinking. It looks like a normal T-shirt but it is not wearable. The back and front are sewn.
PRECIOUS HAND
Necklace, Wood & Fabric, 2018
“Precious Hands” were created to appreciate the value of the bijoux of Casalmaggiore Museum. Drawing is a way to observe things precisely and really know them. Also, our hands help us to touch our world. Our eyes and hands join together to remark on the historical value of the artwork.
BODY PIECES
Fabric Sculpture, Marker on Fabric, 2021
I drew on cloth instead of paper. The fabric is flexible and its shape can change. These are wearable then their relationship with the viewer changes and creates a new atmosphere.
Design is not just a part of the creation process, but a complete artwork. Working on fabric gives me more possibility to increase the interactive relation between body and works and create original flexible forms.
ROOT
Necklace, Drawing & Sewing on Fabric, 2019
This piece is based on my friendship with a dear friend from the Czech Republic. The inspiration was the fact that I met a person with whom I was able to communicate despite language and cultural barriers.
It made me reflect on how everything in this world is connected. Using the hands to embody the human being and to show that we are not separated but they communicate and touch the soul of the world.
FINISHED or UNFINISHED
Fabric and thread, October 2020
I did it gradually for 2 years. It is my own hand. First I took a mold from my own hand then I switched it to take form. Is it a hand (skin) that is not clear that is forming or destroying? Our life is an endless process of growth. We are totally rebuilding our identity. In fact, In fact, we choose to build or destroy ourselves by our reactions to events.
